Professor DeMito has worked in the FNP program as adjunct faculty since 2011 and has taught Evidence Based Principles and Roles, Advanced Health Assessment, and Women Heath Therapeutics and Management Across the Lifespan.
Additionally she serves as an adjunct faculty member at Northern Illinois University, teaching OB nursing to undergrad students. Her professional career includes over 26 years in the field of nursing including an extensive background in Women and Infant Services spending 9 years as a labor and delivery nurse, 5 as an OB clinical educator and 5 years as Director of a Women and Infant Service line. April Currently works as a Family Nurse Practitioner for Advocate Medical Group in Park Ridge Illinois.
April is currently working toward obtaining her Doctorate in Nursing Practice through Chamberlain University.
Professor DeMito finds great fulfilment working as an educator and speaker having written and presented various programs including OB Emergencies.
April has 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys spending time at her tiny house in Wisconsin around a campfire with her grandchildren.
