Dr. Michel is the Director of the Center for Leadership Excellence, an organization dedicated to inspiring Christian executives to develop their God-given leadership gifts. He is a results-focused management consultant seeking to honor God having 40 years of experience as a marketing executive and leadership consultant with broad-based experience in coaching managers and executives at IBM. He has done research, development, teaching and consulting in management and leadership.

Until last year, he was the Director of the Chicago Executive Forum, an organization which connects Christian CEOs and business owners who work together to build influential lives and grow profitable businesses with a Christian perspective. He did this through executive coaching and monthly executive forums. He was personally coached by Tom Paterson author of Living the Life You Were Meant to Live, and John Townsend, author of Leadership beyond Reason.

Dr. Michel was one of the creators of IBM’s next generation management development program. Dr. Michel had worked with the IBM Center for Advanced Learning where he holds a patent for a “Method and System for Work-embedded Learning and Group Facilitation using a Computer Delivery System.” This is an online technology designed to help teams work together more effectively through better communication.  

He has a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University. His dissertation was on Leadership Development in a Distributed Learning Environment. He researched how people communicate electronically, especially to facilitate learning. He also has a Masters degree from Trinity International University and an undergraduate degree from Wheaton College. He has been an adjunct faculty at Regent University, Trinity International University, Taylor University and Olivet Nazarene University. He has also been a leadership consultant to the Evangelical Free Church of America.

He has been on the following professional associations and advisory boards: Benedictine University, Dean’s Advisory Board; Trinity International University, President’s Inner Circle and Trinity Ambassadors; Wheaton College, Wheaton Associates; and the National Association of Professional Christian Educators.

He lives with his wife in Cary, NC where they attend the Crosspointe Church. They have three married children and seven grandchildren.
