Professor Andrews joined Olivet’s adjunct online faculty in 2008. Her many years of nursing practice have been focused in acute care settings and include maternal-child, gynecology, pediatrics - including neonatal intensive care, medical-surgical, and community nursing. She has served in the roles of staff nurse, charge nurse, nurse educator, and nurse manager.
She has a strong interest in diversity and transcultural issues in healthcare and served as an organizational diversity facilitator for 11 years. She holds a specialty certification in advanced transcultural nursing (CTN-A). Currently, in addition to teaching in the RN-BSN program, she lectures and consults in the areas of diversity and transcultural nursing. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, American Nurses Association, NC Nurses Association, and Transcultural Nursing Society.
Her leisure activities include reading, music, traveling, and playing Scrabble.
