Jennifer Daly, RN, MSN, CCDS, CDIP has been an adjunct nursing professor for Olivet Nazarene University since 2010. She obtained her Associate Degree in Science of Nursing from Elgin Community College in 1999; Associate in Arts from Elgin Community College in 2005; Baccalaureate in Nursing from Northern Illinois University in 2006; and Masters in Nursing Education from Olivet Nazarene University in 2010. She is nationally certified as both a Clinical Documentation Specialist and Compliant Documentation Improvement Practitioner. Her nursing experience includes care for patients in orthopedics, pediatrics, and medical-surgical areas. Jennifer has teaching experience that includes nursing informatics, theory, ethics, history, health assessment and physiology, and clinical documentation. In addition to her teaching, Jennifer spends time mentoring physicians on healthcare documentation guidelines and how to achieve compliant documentation. She works with physicians to accurately depict the acuity of their patients in order to help justify services provided. She educates nurses on the key points in disease processes and their roles in comprehensive holistic patient care so they can facilitate their patients in achieving optimal health outcomes. She is an active member of Association of American Health Information Management Association, Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists, Sigma Theta Tau International, and Northern Illinois Clinical Documentation Specialists.
