A professor in both the READ and ESL programs, Mrs. LePretre joined the Olivet SGCS in 2009. She has a strong background in both Literacy and ESL having worked with students in Chicago Public Schools at the Elementary, and High School levels and the City Colleges of Chicago Adult Education programs. In her 20 plus years as an educator, she has served as a reading teacher, Bilingual program coordinator, Reading Specialist and Literacy Coach. She was awarded the teacher of the year award from City Colleges in 2002.
Teaching graduate students ensures that she is up to date on current research and best practice and also provides her with the opportunity to meet many talented educators from around the state.
Professional organization memberships include the International Literacy Association, American Federation of Teachers and Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
She has been married to Tom for 25 years and together they are raising their four wonderful children on the south side of Chicago.
