Dr. Larry Lacher has served in pastoral ministry in the Church of the Nazarene for over 33 years. All of that time, he served as lead pastor in churches in Texas, New Mexico, and Illinois. He is currently the lead pastor of First Church of the Nazarene in Roswell, NM.
Dr. Lacher is married to Lisa who is a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, holding several registries. They have three children who are all Olivet alumni as are their spouses. The Lachers have six grandchildren.
Dr. Lacher is an alumnus of Trevecca Nazarene University, where he earned his B.A in Religion in 1980. He also earned his Master of Divinity Degree and his Doctor of Ministry Degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City (1984, 1993). In 2011, he completed his Ph.D. from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in Theology and Culture. His particular interests are in Catechetics and Worship.
He has been involved in preparing others for ministry for his entire career. He has served on district boards of ministerial studies and/or credentials throughout his ministry. He has also taught in district ministry training programs, for Nazarene Indian Bible College, Nazarene Bible College, Africa Nazarene University, Point Loma Nazarene University, and Olivet. He also serves on the USA Region and Point Loma Region Conferences for Ministerial Education. He designed a mentoring program for the Illinois and New Mexico districts and has served on many district boards and committees including the District Advisory Boards and Trustee to Olivet. He currently serves as the District NMI President for the New Mexico District.
Dr. Lacher enjoys mountain hiking, water sports, and investing in other people.
