Professor Schrum joined Olivet’s full-time nursing faculty in 2013. As a clinical nurse, she has critical care experience with a specialty in neurosurgical intensive care and emergency medicine.
During the 2012–2013 academic year, she was an adjunct professor at Olivet, assisting with the senior seminar and capstone projects for senior-level nursing students. She has previously served as a preceptor for nursing students, capstone students and new graduate nurses.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society of Nursing; Eta Sigma Gamma, the national health education honorary; and Emergency Nurses’ Association. She is certified in the Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
She and her husband, Jason, enjoy spending time with their large, extended family in the Kankakee area. For relaxation, she likes to run, bicycle, read and garden. Her other leisure interests include scrapbooking and health and wellness.
