Professor Williams currently teaches in the ONU Masters in Nursing Program and teaches Theory and Professional Foundations in Nursing and Moral/Ethical Decision Making.

Professor Williams began with the ONU RN-BSN Program in 2008 and has taught a variety of courses including statistics online, RN-BSN online courses, and currently is teaching MSN online courses.  She also teaches at the University of Illinois – Chicago RN-BSN program and has authored several courses in that program.  Currently she is teaching Nursing Research and Nursing Leadership.  In 2014, 2015, and 2016 she has received the College of Nursing Undergraduate Faculty Award of Excellence and in 2016 is a UIC Silver Circle Award recipient for the College of Nursing Teaching Excellence Award.

In her professional nursing career, Professor Williams has worked as a pediatric and NICU staff nurse, pediatric head nurse, and for the last 12 years has been a process manager for virtual clinical programs supporting telephonic nurses in managed care.  She supports major nursing research projects.

Professor Williams is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Education –Educational Technology & E-Learning at Northcentral University.  Her dissertation topic is a national survey of non-BSN nurses to measure intent to pursue a BSN and achieve the IOM goal of 80% BSN by 2020.  The goal is to find gaps that can be filled by employers and nursing education to move toward the goal.

During her free time, Professor Williams does crafts including building doll houses, doll clothes, and even Prom dresses for her grandchildren. She swims daily and is an addicted online learner.

Professor Williams is a widow after 35 years of marriage and has five children and 12 grandchildren. As a pediatric nurse grandmother God has blessed her with five special needs grandchildren and she daily supports her children and her grandchildren. They range in age from 2-18 and are truly God’s blessing daily.
