During the 101st Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 10, 2014, Olivet Nazarene University conferred degrees upon the largest graduating class in history: a total of 1,537 graduates. From the 15 graduates in the Class of 1931 to today’s record-setting number, the University remains committed to providing “Education with a Christian Purpose.”
When he came to the United States from the South American country of Ecuador in 1991, Jeffrey Vizueta didn’t speak English. He didn’t have a high school diploma. On Saturday, May 10, 2014, Olivet Nazarene University conferred upon him the Doctor of Education in Ethical Leadership (Ed.D.) degree, and he received the Ralph E. Perry Student Award of Excellence.
What happened in between was even better than his childhood dream.
