Professor Hofrichter joined Olivet’s full-time faculty in 2015. She teaches adult health courses and supervises students’ capstone projects. Previously, she had been an adjunct professor for clinicals in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program for Olivet.  

Her nursing career began in 2006, and her primary experience is in the areas of critical care and emergency room nursing. Her professional certifications include Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Emergency Communications Registered Nurse (ECRN) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). She is a member of the Illinois Nurses Association, Emergency Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau.

“You always have new things to learn because nursing is always changing,” Professor Hofrichter says. “I like to keep up with the times by attending seminars and workshops.”

An outdoor enthusiast, she enjoys bike riding, hiking and walking. Her interest in history has led to her interest in travel and experiencing new places.

She and her husband, Ben, are the parents of one son, Benny. Spending time with her family is one of her greatest pleasures.
