Professor Melissa Long joined Olivet’s faculty in 2012. She has taught undergraduate nursing and courses for Olivet's Nurse Practitioner program.
Professor Long is a graduate from Loyola University Chicago's nursing program from 1995. Before joining Olivet’s faculty, she was a certified critical care nurse, Advanced Cardiac Life Support instructor and a leader in the Advocate System from 1995-present. She became a board certified family nurse practitioner 2012 and has worked for Advocate Medical Group Cardiology, and Advocate Good Shepherd's Rapid Response Team.
She is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Illinois Society of Advanced Practice Nurses and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
She and her spouse, Andrew, have a daughter in high school and a son in medical school.
