With over 18 years of experience in Adult Education Teaching Experience, Dr. Rob Simpson is no stranger to higher education. Having served the last four years as the Dean for the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies at Olivet Nazarene University, it has been his responsibility to oversee the broad design of the Ed.D program, as well as serve on the leadership team for the Ed.D, both the current on-ground structure as well as the new online format.
Previously, Dr. Simpson has served as an Officer in the Salvation Army; it was here where he discovered his passion for teaching and leading business training to non-business minded leaders. When he completed his MBA at Indiana Wesleyan University in 1994, he realized that his experiences in both his educational and professional roles had prepared him for a new experience of teaching. It was then that he began to teach various business courses at his Alma Mater.
Like so many members of his team, Dr. Simpson is most excited for the uncapped possibilities of global outreach within the new online format of the Ed.D. He knows that by not requiring on-campus visits, candidates will be able to participate from all parts of the globe.
Dr. Simpson and his wife just celebrated 42 years of marriage this last September. They met while serving in the Salvation Army and have served together in various locations with various roles for close to 20 years. With travel as playing a large role in their marriage, the two of them have been to over 50 countries world-wide. They have one daughter, Charity Joy, who is married to their son-in-law, who is also named Rob. They have blessed Dr. Simpson and his wife with two wonderful grandchildren, Karah and Ethan.
