Discovery Consulting, Inc. is proud to present Introduction to ICD-10 Coding and Legal Documentation for Nurse Practitioners.
The morning content will be presented by Carla McDuffie, MJ, BSN and will focus on the importance of ICD-10 and the impact on provider practice. The implications of inadequate documentation and examples of improved documentation specificity, covering 10 specialties will be addressed. In addition, legal implication of documentation will also be addressed. The goal is to increase awareness of ICD-10 documentation requirements and the risks associated with inadequate documentation.
The afternoon content will be presented by Riverside and will focus on developing your job search strategy and CV.

1. Participants will be able to classify the necessary components of coding during group work with 80% accuracy.
2. Participants will be able to describe the requirements of ICD-10 documentation on the post-lecture evaluation.
3. Participants will be able to demonstrate accurate ICD-10 coding on sample patient encounters with 80% accuracy.
4. Participants will be able to identify the major “Do’s and Don’ts” on sample NP documentation with 80% accuracy.
Olivet Nazarene University is the organization providing nursing contact hours in a joint provider agreement with Discovery Consulting, Inc.
