Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) and City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) have announced a new partnership agreement allowing students to transfer from CCC to pursue a four-year baccalaureate degree in a continuous program. The dual admissions initiative, appropriately called Pursue ONU, will provide CCC students an opportunity to earn a bachelor of applied science in management, a bachelor of business administration, bachelor of science in nursing, or a master of science in nursing.

“At City Colleges of Chicago we focus on the success of every student to ensure they are college and career ready. We are thrilled to add Olivet as a university partner, giving our students another avenue to continue their studies to reach their academic and career goals,” Shelley Lemons, District Director - Transfer Programs and Services, City Colleges of Chicago.

Over the past one hundred years, CCC has transformed the lives of more than one million students through education. CCC is considered an economic engine for Illinois’ largest city. Pursue ONU is an opportunity designed for students who wish to continue pursuing their education, and CCC joins several other community colleges participating in the initiative.

“Pursue ONU will provide students from City Colleges of Chicago the chance to continue their education with a seamless transition. We are excited to welcome CCC as a partner and give their students the opportunity to pursue a bachelor’s degree to reach their personal and professional goals,” said Tiffany Holohan, Olivet’s Senior Director of Transfer Relations at the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies.

ONU’s School of Graduate and Continuing Studies (SGCS) offers non-traditional students the opportunity to study Nursing, Business, Education, and Ministry at the bachelor, master, and doctoral levels. As a part of Pursue ONU, students can now be simultaneously admitted to CCC and SGCS. Approved in all 50 states, classes can be taken online throughout the country.

Because of dual admission, CCC students can transfer more quickly: taking general education and prerequisite classes before beginning as full-time Olivet students. Academic advisors will ensure that students are enrolled in only the necessary courses to pursue their bachelor degree. CCC students receive support from Olivet’s Student Accounts departments.
